I love my kids, they are such a light in my life. But sometimes I need some time to myself to re-connect with who I am. I need some space away from the kids so that I can come back and be the best mom for them. There are so many ways I like to spend this time alone. I love a good pampering day at the spa or a shopping day and drinks with my girlfriends. But I want to share a few ways you can find this space for free or on a budget.
First, I like to set my boundaries. I let my kids know that it is time for me to have some time alone and I’ll make sure that they have something to do. I really enjoy reading, so I will grab my favorite book, and curl up somewhere comfortable with a cup of coffee. Having 1-2 hours to escape into that book really allows me to feel rejuvenated afterward.
If you have a hobby that you love, but don’t get the time to spend doing it, this is the perfect time to do it! You could also use this space to find a new hobby to dive into. If you enjoy spending time outside, you could start gardening or do yoga in the fresh air. If you are the artsy type you could also take some time to paint, draw, or even bake!
It is so important to have time to yourself. Life can get crazy and everyone needs a way to re-connect with themselves. Whether that is a walk around the neighborhood, binging a new show, or even just taking a nap. Taking that time to relax will make a difference for the rest of your life!
