Summer is coming and the heat always hits hard here in Sacramento! One way to stay cool is with a tasty smoothie. This is the perfect way to feel fresh and ready to have a productive day.
All you really need is your favorite fruit or greens, a bit of ice, and some milk or yogurt. If you are trying to make a healthy smoothie you could add spinach, banana, lemon, apple, cucumber, and some almond milk. This will keep your energy high and your body cool. If you are making your favorite smoothie after working out, add some protein powder! This will help heal your muscles and keep you on track with your fitness goals.
A couple of my favorite flavors are strawberry banana, ginger peach, peanut butter banana, and greens with mango. As much as I love these fun flavors, I don’t always have the right ingredients on hand. I try to make sure to have a bag of frozen mixed berries or mixed fruit to make an easy smoothie. All you need is your favorite frozen mixed berries/fruit, ice, milk or yogurt, and (if you have it) a dash of vanilla extract. Grab your blender and add about 1 cup of fruit, 1-2 cups of milk or yogurt, 1-2 cups of ice, and 1 tsp of vanilla. This will make one smoothie. You can always add more or less of any of the ingredients to make it exactly to your liking.
